I am on the hunt for the best choclate chip cookie recipe. All recipes will be posted on the blog and on FB... you can email or message or post them, or post where to find them!
My children have determined that I have no idea how to make homeade chocolate chip cookies, I must show them that Mom's way is best (but need to have the help of the other amazing adults and their recipes) I will be making the top 3 and having my children taste test...

Why is it done like that?
Why mom? But Mom? I know how to do it mom!?
It is amazing the amount of "but mom"'s children say everyday. It is almost as many times said as the child's name is said by the parents. Remember the Bill Cosby special from the 80's where he talks about the plane ride and the child named "Johnny".
This afternoon it was the arguement of why should beds have to be made at all when they will be messed up as soon as they crawl into bed at night... think about it. Do we make the bed in the morning because we were always told to? Mom's way is best is what I told them. Why? Well, because Mom said so.

Good grief -
Not sure how I managed to talk myself into a 6 hour session sitting Indian style on the floor with what felt like 5 trillion coupons around me... but victory was mine this past weekend. The best is that I look back now and it almost feels "foggish"... yes Mom's way is best... write things down, file them, and be consistent about both. I am a new "coupon-er" not like the show, yet. I don't have an extra room of my house for food, my cupboards hold the basics on a good day. There isn't 25 packs of diapers that I don't need anyways taking up space in a closet. Nope, I am not that type of coupon-er. I am however learning the "skill" and timeliness necessary to cut everything at least by 50% if not much more... so yes - I am getting good, maybe.
I think it was the best step last night when I went with my 7 year old to Cub Foods and with 3 people behind me I, in an organized manner (for the first time EVER) handed in the proper order my stack of coupons to the cashier. The total on the screen was initially over 70.00, but as she, very efficiently I should note, scanned the coupons, all of the people in line behind me watched the total drop. The final was $26. I actually heard a "Wow" from a gentleman two people back. My son looked at me and said "Cool mom... your way is best, this time"
Gotta love kids... he was right, that time mom's way was the best. Now on to the organizational chaos of my house, my files, my yard, my job, and overall writing, oh and coupons of course. One step and one blog post at a time

The age old story of mother knows best... it is a tried and true, black and blue, worn and shredded theory that most every person has either revolted against or embraced at least once in their life. Take fore example my oldest... yes that delicate age of going from cute adorable son to well... you'll see as more posts arrive. He is a wonderful person, just going through the normal stage of learning his own voice and discovering the lines to push for his independence. But that is for another day...
As this blog gets off the ground and takes on wings this mom will have many opinions, questions, stories, and sometimes just plain old rants... but most of the time it will be the sarcastic funnies of life that may just be the most prevalent
